Target Stores Are Getting 'Mario Kart' Themed Makeovers Across The Country

If you love Nintendo Switch or more precisely Mario Kart, well Target may be your new favorite store to shop at! The company will be remodeling 650 locations around the world, transforming them into Mario Kart courses.

The course will include Mario and Luigi themed shopping karts that will mimic the game's characters. There will also be a checkered starting line at the entrance of the store. Once you cross over the checkered starting line, motion sensors fire up flashing lights and play the Mario theme song.

The mastermind behind this operation is Scott Nygaard, senior vice president of Merchandising at Target. He mentioned in said in a PR statement saying, “Experience counts—it’s what keeps guests coming in and coming back to our stores. So we’re delivering the fun like only Target can, giving generations of Mario fans a shopping trip they won’t soon forget.”

As part of the makeover, Nintendo-related products will be for sale around the store, but the Nintendo Switch, likely won’t be available at some Target locations because of it's high volume of consumers.

The company does make a comment saying, “working hard with Nintendo to keep these crazy-popular consoles flowing in to Target stores throughout the year.”
